Investigating Big Questions
Essential experiences in science (Years 4 – 7): free resources and support for enquiry pedagogy and action-research.
The new school year is our chance to help you to ‘make the impossible possible’ and give children their best experiences of hands-on science ever.
Our free scheme has a portfolio of activities to help you teach the Science Curriculum for years 4 – 7.
Some activities focus on a science concept and others bridge curriculum areas to create ‘cross-disciplinary enquiries’ and real world problem solving.
All the activities can be done in the classroom, outside or at home. There are also webinars and on-line help for teachers, parents and carers.
For the first 30 schools recruited, we are also providing a set of ‘Discovery bags’ with a few special items of equipment designed to incentivise young scientists – to use in science investigations in school and at home and to keep.
Schools recruited can expect participating classes to do around 20 hours of science enquiry activities within six months. Taking part will include helping to research the effectiveness of this scheme – to develop children’s knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes in science; build their love of learning and strengthen the home-school partnership.
Webinars – Join us on this exciting journey by booking onto our series of webinars starting 28th September to gain access to free resources, equipment and support. Take part in professional development to up-skill your enquiry-pedagogy; with opportunity to get involved in research within your classroom – all supported through the scheme.
The webinars are available to book through Eventbrite. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/lasar-centre-at-cccu-30754621852
