Resources for Secondary
Here you can find resources developed to bridge subject compartments, developed specifically for that purpose.
To download, click on the image of the resource you would like to have. It will open in a new tab. Once open, just right-click and select ‘save as’, like you would do to save any image.
Scroll down to see more resources.
Discipline Wheel
You can use the wheel like you see on the image to the right: put a big, multidisciplinary question in the middle and ask your students to address the question from different disciplines. You can download the wheel with a blank ‘post-it’ and disciplines added, or blank post-it and disciplines so you can add your own.
Science Bubbles
Use the bubbles with multidisciplinary questions, to stimulate secondary students to think about whether or not science could address it. This helps students to understand the power and limitations of science, and to understand its reach within a multidisciplinary arena.
Pro tip: We have thought of some questions that might help start the conversation:
- Why did the Romans come to Britain?
- Will we ever bring back dinosaurs?
- If Henry VIII’s first wife had given birth to a baby boy, would he have remarried?
- Why did many women authors write under male pseudonyms?
- How can we measure the speed of coastal erosion?
- Is trial by jury the fairest way to judge someone?
- Can a robot ever be given the status of electronic person?
