The most fun part of my role as Research Fellow at LASAR is trying out the science gadgets for our investigation cards! Today I took the anemometer out for a spin (literally), but unfortunately the weather was so calm, there was nothing for the wind-measuring device to measure.
Not wanting to give up that easily, I sought more powerful gusts. A hairdryer was just what I needed to get a reading of 9 on the Beaufort Scale (the equivalent of a strong gale and 50mph wind speeds!).
Has a child ever asked you a tricky question? What about this one: Does God control the weather? The IBQ project is about getting answers to life’s tricky questions.
If you’re a parent/carer with child(ren) aged 8-12 who enjoy thinking about science, the universe and more, we’d love to hear from you! We have a range of exciting ‘Discovery Bags’ to help you explore together some of life’s Big Questions. There’s plenty of support and guidance included, so you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know all the answers!
