Introduction
This resource is designed to give school students a selection of teaching skills to inspire their interest in teaching and develop skills that they can use right now, be that with siblings, creative writing, or even parents and carers. The course will also build an understanding of enquiry methods and disciplines like science that students of all ages learn about at school.
Outcomes:
- Learn some key skills in teaching and receive recognition – from a professional teacher training institution.
- You will design your own sessions to teach a younger student some key ideas from the National Curriculum
- You can do the course whether or not you have a younger student to work with. There’s a certificate to congratulate you at the end
The Discipline Wheel (below) is one of the teaching tools you’ll be working with in this course.
We use the Discipline Wheel to decide which disciplines (subjects) we can use to investigate a question. In this case, the question is, “What is an Orange?” Which Disciplines in the Wheel can help you to investigate – What is an orange?
